Phase 4 in McDonough County and across the state of Illinois, means the return of the YMCA. The new and improved McDonough County YMCA held a socially distanced ribbon cutting on Wednesday to the mark the occasion of the re-opening of the Y. The Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce joined the staff at the McDonough County YMCA, a social distance, to commemorate the re-opening with a ribbon cutting. The YMCa of McDonough County is re-opening today with brand new cleaning and safety protocols aimed at protecting members from COVID-19.
The Ambassador Committee of the Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce held a social distancing responsible ribbon cutting today to celebrate the recent “Restore Illinois” Phase 4 reopening of the YMCA of McDonough County YMCA of McDonough County (400 E. Calhoun Street, Macomb). For the well being of all members and staff, the YMCA has put new policies, procedures, and practices into place in accordance with the Center for Disease Control and the McDonough County Health Department. The facility will operate at a reduced capacity with outdoor class options available and increased sanitizing procedures. Members/Staff must be 16 years or older and will receive temperature checks upon entrance, must wear masks in the facility (with the exception of exercising), and maintain a proper six foot distance.
