McDonough County Sheriff Announces Arrest in Case of Exploitation of an Elderly Person

The McDonough County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Good Hope woman on charges related to exploitation of an elderly person. According to the information provided by the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office, 62 year old Anna M Oller of Good Hope has been arrested for Financial Exploitation of an Elderly Person and 2 counts of Felony Theft. On August 12th, 2021 at approximately 1:53 Pm an elderly man contacted the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office and indicated that he was missing several items of property from his residence.

The elderly man indicated that he’d been hospitalized the week prior and that he believed his caretaker had the missing items. A subsequent investigation determined that Anna M Oller, the man’s caretaker, was in possession of the items. Further investigation determined that Oller was also using the victim’s finances to her own benefit. The investigation led to a warrant being issued for Oller’s arrest and Oller was arrested on November 30th, 2021.
