Whether or not you have medical training, the McDonough County Health Department is looking for you.
By registering with Illinois Helps, you will be included in an alert system that will contact you in the event of a significant disaster or public health emergency, such as the current COVID-19 pandemic response. If contacted, you may be asked to volunteer to work in a hospital surge or alternative housing setting once your credentials are verified.
If you lack medical training and still want to volunteer your time and skills in the local area, McDonough County Health Department needs dedicated Medical Reserve Corps volunteers to serve on an ongoing basis. The MRC is a national network of adult volunteers, organized locally, working to improve the health and safety of their communities. Public health volunteers include medical and public health professionals and other community members with or without healthcare backgrounds, preparing for responding to natural disasters and other emergencies.
If you’re interested in volunteering in the Medical Reserve Corps, contact the McDonough County Health Department, 309-837-9951.
