The Macomb Park District has announced cancellations and closings in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. According to Rachel Lenz, Park District Executive Director, all group programming classes, activities and events are suspended until further notice. Facility rental will be at the discretion of the renter, Lenz said. If one chooses to reschedule a rental or cancel and receive credit for a future rental. All gatherings of 50 or more are canceled. Lenz said the Park District Main Office is restricted to park staff only until further notice. Parks will remain open, but restroom facilities will remain closed until further notice.
“While we are disappointed to have to cancel programming and restrict facility use temporarily, it is out hope that the early response to COVID-19 will help limit its impact and allow us to get back to full program levels sooner,” Lenz said. “We stand committed to do whatever we can to support the health and wellness of our community and these short-term closures will accomplish that.”
