Macomb Mayor Signs Emergency Proclamation Allowing Remote Attendance at Council Meetings

Macomb’s Mayor Michael J. Inman signed an emergency proclamation Monday (March 23) allowing members of the Macomb City Council to remotely attend council meetings.

In the proclamation, Inman cited Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s March 16 order suspending provisions of the state’s Open Meeting Act requiring in-person attendance by members of a public body in order to reduce gatherings of a large number of people and a reduction of person-to-person contacts while still providing the ability for public bodies, like the city council, to operate as necessary.
