Macomb City Council to Hold Virtual Meeting Monday

MACOMB,IL – The Macomb City Council will hold their regular scheduled meeting at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2020.

On March 16, 2020, Gov. JB Pritzker issued an executive order providing relief from some of the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, 5 ILCS 120, suspending certain requirements relating to in-person attendance by members of a public body. To comply with these provisions of the Opening Meetings Act and to comply with the Governor’s Stay at Home Order, designed to minimize the spread of COVID-19, the City Council meeting will be conducted via teleconferencing and members of the public and the media will not be allowed to be physically present during the meeting.

However, the meeting will be available for the public to watch, live, via the internet. The meeting will be live-streamed and can be accessed at on the city’s YouTube channel.

Public comments will still be a part of the Council Agenda. Anyone wishing to submit Public Comments for the meeting may do so by emailing them to City Clerk Melanie Falk at [email protected] Comments will be read aloud by the City Clerk during the meeting. Public comments should be submitted no later than 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2020.
