The Downtown Macomb Summer Concert Series that was put on hold over concerns about COVID-19 will resume on Wednesday, July 15th. According to information provided by reps from Downtown Macomb, the Wednesday, lunch hour concert series will happen from 12 Noon to 1 Pm in Chandler Park in Macomb. Downtown Development staff have been working on ways to safely resume the concert series even with the threat of COVID-19. All residents and guests must follow all CDC social distancing guidelines (cdc.gov). Attendees are asked to please bring their own lawn chairs or blanket to sit on and enjoy the entertainment in Chandler Park. Due to the pandemic, public restrooms will not be available.
The duo of Ayers and Oaks will perform on July 15th. They will be followed on July 22nd by Bill Maakestad and on July 29th by the Bayou Prowlers. “We believe we have developed an environment that will allow us to resume the Downtown Summer Concert Series, consistent with the CDC protocols, that also allows our residents to enjoy the benefit of activities that improve well-being, through music,” said Downtown Development Director Kristin Terry. “This is a great opportunity to grab a bite to eat from our local restaurants Downtown or Boss Food Truck which will be set up in the Park, during the Summer Concerts and enjoy great entertainment”, added Terry.
