Macomb Police Make Two Arrests following Domestic Violence Call Turned Drug Bust

The Macomb Police Department on Tuesday made a pair of arrests following a call regarding domestic abuse. According to the information from the Macomb Police Department, Police received a call just after 9 Pm on Monday night. The caller indicated that a pregnant woman had been battered and was trapped in the residence at 520 West Johnson Street with her alleged abuser, believed to be the woman’s boyfriend. Police arrived on scene and initially were unable to make contact with anyone in the residence. After obtaining a search warrant, the Macomb Special Response Team, SRT, were dispatched to the scene. The SRT made entrance to the home, made contact with the residents of the home and were able to safely secure the scene.

Investigators with the Macomb Police Department, SRT and the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office were on scene and a subsequent search of the residence turned up a firearm and ammunition along with a large amount of Cannabis. 25 year old Shiloh Bates was arrested at the scene on charges of Aggravated Battery, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and the Manufacture/Delivery of Cannabis Over 500 Grams. Also arrested at the scene was 19 year old Asya Kettle. Kettle is charged with Manufacture/Delivery of Cannabis Over 500 Grams. The McDonough County Sheriff’s Office and the WIU Office of Public Safety assisted the Macomb Police Department.
