Four Seasons webinars

With many fall activities canceled, gardening has enjoyed an increased enthusiasm. University of Illinois Extension provides reliable research-based information on gardening and landscaping.
The popular Four Seasons Gardening webinar series will begin Sept. 15, and all sessions begin at 1:30 p.m. Space is limited, and registration is required for these free online sessions.

The September webinar provides patio and retaining wall installation tips from Chris Enroth, Extension horticulture educator. Hardscape installation can cost thousands of dollars, but Enroth will offer basic training in modular patio paving and retaining wall do-it-yourself projects.

In October, Bruce Black, Extension horticulture educator, will create a self-contained plant environment in a bottle terrarium. The webinar will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

The Nov. 17 webinar will provide an historical review of forest pest outbreaks in North America. NorthAmerica has a history of exotic pests that extirpate individual tree species, says Ryan Pankau, Extension horticulture educator. Emerald Ash Borer serves as our modern example. Pankau will discuss the current pests threatening native trees.
