City of Macomb Issues Snow Emergency

MACOMB, IL – In response to the anticipated three (3) to five (5) inches of snowfall forecasted, the City of Macomb is declaring a Snow Emergency starting at 5:00 p.m. Friday evening and lasting until Saturday at 8:00 p.m.

A snowfall of three (3) inches automatically constitutes a snow emergency, and parking or allowing a motor vehicle to be parked on or along a street designated as a snow route in the city is deemed unlawful.

For those living with the city that are located within the designated sidewalk abatement zones, the Public Works Director has issued a sidewalk enforcement declaration that results in the need to clear their sidewalks within 24 hours. The City kinds asks citizens have their sidewalks cleared by 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

In addition to the parking restrictions on designated emergency snow routes, parking is also not allowed in the Downtown Business District from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. during the snow emergency until the streets have been cleared.
