Area COVID Update

The Whiteside Count Health Department reports 50 new cases of COVID-19 in Whiteside County. (30)Under 20, (3)20s, (7)30s, (3)40s, (2)50s, (3)60s, (1)70s, (1)80+. The 7 day rolling positivity rate in Whiteside as indicated by The Illinois Department of Public Health is at 4.4%.

The Lee County Health Department received 70 new positive reports since November 16th. 54 residents were released from isolation.

New cases: 12 & Under-9, Teens-5, 20’s-13, 30’s-15, 40’s-10, 50’s-7, 60’s-7, 70’s-3, 80’s-1. As of yesterday, no residents were hospitalized. Regretfully, we are reporting another death-a male resident in his 80’s.

The Carrol County Health Department is currently monitoring 43 confirmed cases, 17 probable cases and 155 close contacts.

There were around 5,600 new COVID-19 positive cases reported last week than the week before, for a total of 28,280. The Illinois Department of Public Health reports the state’s positivity rate also increased to 3.2% from 2.5% the week prior. The latest vaccine breakthrough data shows in total 3,272 vaccinated individuals have been hospitalized with COVID-19. Around 980 vaccinated individuals have died of COVID-19.
