On Thursday, October 7th, 150 people attended the SVACC 3rd Annual Manufacturing Dinner at The McCormick Event Center in Rock Falls. The dinner provided an opportunity to celebrate the Manufacturing industry in the Sauk Valley and raised funds to provide scholarships for students pursuing manufacturing careers.
The event also supports our work in the area of workforce development and helping to create talent pipelines. The evening consisted of networking and discussions that highlighted collaborative efforts to address workforce challenges. 2020-21 and 2021-22 manufacturing scholarship recipients were introduced, and assisted with a dessert auction, led by Ken Duncan, Duncan Land and Auction.
In addition, attendees were provided updates on programming at Whiteside Area Career Center (WACC), Morrison Institute of Technology, and Sauk Valley Community College. “This event validates that our community understands the importance of and supports Manufacturing as a crucial industry in the Sauk Valley,” shared Lance Buser, President of the SVACC Board Of Directors. “We are grateful for the support as the Chamber continues to work
to promote manufacturing as a viable career pathway.”
