It’s time to make your entries for the 166th annual Bureau County Fair which will be held Aug 25-29th. The Fairbook is online now at www.bureaucountyfair.com. If you don’t have computer access you can pick up entry forms for the fine arts building departments at the Prouty Building in Princeton. The Fair office will be open Saturday morning from 9 to noon to pick them up there.
Life Membership tickets will be available starting August 1st. Office hours will be posted soon.
There are a couple of changes to note for the upcoming Fair. The exhibit days for baked goods has changed to Thursday, Friday and Saturday so please check the new entry blank for the day to bring your pies, cakes and cookies. All exhibits have to be in place by 9:30 a.m. now too.
Exhibitors in the Textile department will be able to put two entries in each class (except for Heritage Textiles) for the 2021 Fair only. This is the only department with that change.
Please note the change in the date the entry blanks have to be turned into the office. It has been extended to August 16th but you are encouraged to submit them earlier if possible. There is a drop box on the outside of the office to leave them in or you can mail them to PO Box 238, Princeton, IL 61356.
If you haven’t entered before here’s the areas that you can exhibit in – Art, Photography, Hobbies and Collections, Textiles, Canning, Baking, Horticulture, Ag Products (gardening) and Flowers. There are also many livestock classes. Most of the departments have classes for children and teens too. Children 12 and under and life members do not have to purchase an exhibitors ticket. Entries in the fine arts department are only $ .50 each. If you have questions about entering call the superintendent listed on the entry blanks or the Fair office at 875-2905. Just remember that your entry blanks have to be turned in by Aug 16th at the latest.
