Neil Young to perform at online rally for Bernie Sanders streaming live tonight

Neil Young will perform at a digital rally for Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders that will stream live online tonight at 7 p.m. ET.

Young will be joined by his wife, actress Daryl Hannah, and there also will be performances by My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James and retro-soul group The Free Nationals. You can watch the rally at Live.BernieSanders.com.

Earlier this month, Neil posted a message on his Neil Young Archives website explaining why he was supporting the Vermont senator’s bid for the presidency.

“I support Bernie because I listen to what he says,” Young writes. Every point he makes is what I believe in. Every one.”

He goes on to suggest that Democratic party insiders and the Democratic National Committee are working to deny Sanders the nomination, adding, “I don’t trust the DNC because I think the DNC is pushing their own agenda over the good of the country.”

Young then lists Sanders’ goals, which he also supports: “Fight CLIMATE CHANGE like it is real…Eliminate STUDENT DEBT…Make COLLEGE TUITION Free. Pay for it all with TAXES ON THE SUPER RICH…$15.00 MINIMUM WAGE…HEALTH CARE AS A HUMAN RIGHT!…The GREEN NEW DEAL for millions of new jobs with a future.”

Neil also asks supporters of President Trump to right his website and share what they think the positive side of supporting Trump is.”
