While most artists who’ve been rescheduling their upcoming tour dates are moving them to the fall, Elton John has decided to push all of his canceled shows into next year.
Elton’s concerts scheduled from March 26 to May 2 have been moved. That includes shows in Manhattan and Brooklyn, NY, as well as concerts in Toronto and Montreal, Canada; Detroit, MI; Milwaukee, WI; Columbus, OH; and Indianapolis, IN.
A statement reads, “This tough decision has been made with the safety and well-being of his fans put to the fore, at a time when health services are under increased pressure and with the concern that these gatherings risk accelerating the spread of the Coronavirus [COVID-19].”
Elton’s concerts set to take place from May 22 through July 8 remain as scheduled. All original tickets for the rescheduled shows will be honored, with new dates announced at some point in the future.
“Elton looks forward to continuing to perform for his dedicated fans around the world and thanks you for your support,” the statement concludes.
