Shinedown digs up never-before-heard song to benefit health workers amid COVID-19

Shinedown has unearthed a never-before-heard song in support of those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The track, titled “Atlas Falls,” will be released alongside a special t-shirt to raise money for Direct Relief, which provides essential equipment to health workers, including protective masks, gloves and gowns.

“I have always said and believe to be true that music can heal us all,” says frontman Brent Smith. “We need music, and each other, now more than ever as we all are witnessing a global pandemic unlike anything we have ever seen in many generations.”

“Years ago during the writing and recording of the [2012] Amaryllis album there was a song that meant a great deal to me and the band titled ‘Atlas Falls,"” he continues. “Although the song did not make the album, I always felt that one day the world would hear it…It has never been more clear to me than right now that the time has come for ‘Atlas Falls’ to arrive.”

You can order the t-shirt/song bundle now via Store.Shinedown.com. A 30-second preview of “Atlas Falls” is streaming now via YouTube.

Shinedown just postponed their upcoming Deep Dive tour due to COVID-19, which was scheduled to launch in April. The outing, during which the band will perform deep cuts and B-sides from throughout their career, will now begin in August.
