Hayley Williams has premiered another song from her upcoming solo debut album, Petals for Armor.
The fresh track is titled “Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris,” and features backing vocals from indie singer-songwriters Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, who make up the trio boygenius. You can download it now via digital outlets.
Williams had planned to release “Roses” alongside a whole EP of new solo tunes, like she did in February with the five-song Petals for Armor I. However, she’s deciding against that in the light of COVID-19.
“I just don’t feel comfortable going through with that plan anymore,” the Paramore frontwoman writes in an Instagram post. “My reason being that just like everyone, I feel a lot of anxiety right now; Worries about how what’s happening in the world affects my friends, my family, my peers in music, fans I’ve gotten to know because of music, and of course how it affects my own mental well-being.”
Instead, Williams plans to release the songs she was going to include on the EP leading up to the release of the Petals for Armor album on May 8.
Williams is scheduled to launch her first solo tour in May.
