Bush’s Gavin Rossdale isn’t searching for an acting career: “I’m away enough with music”

While you may not be able to see Gavin Rossdale live on stage in the near future, you might be able to catch him on your screen.

The Bush frontman has a role in the upcoming film Habit, which stars Bella Thorne and features Paris Jackson — Michael Jackson‘s daughter — as Jesus.

Rossdale has acted in a few movies before — he played a demon in 2005’s Constantine alongside Keanu Reeves, and had a role in the 2013 Sofia Coppola-directed film The Bling Ring.

“Sofia Coppola was the last [film] job I did, which is a fantastic privilege [and a] great honor,” Rossdale tells ABC Audio. “Love her.”

However, Rossdale doesn’t see his acting career expanding beyond “if the right thing comes along,” mostly because he doesn’t want to miss out on any more time with his kids.

“I’m away enough with music,” Rossdale says. “Every actor I know I haven’t seen for a year-and-a-half, ’cause they’re making a film in Vancouver or Bolivia…it’s just really, really difficult.”

“So unless I was allowed to steal my children and homeschool them — which I’m not, and I won’t — I’m not sure about [acting more],” he adds.

Besides, he’s got that whole music thing going on. The new Bush album The Kingdom, featuring the single “Flowers on a Grave,” is due out this summer.

Habit, meanwhile, is in post-production.
