The 2020 Inkcarceration Festival has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The three-day event was set to take place July 10-12 at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio — where The Shawshank Redemption was filmed.
Blink-182, Weezer and Limp Bizkit were scheduled to headline. Other artists on the bill included Halestorm, Papa Roach, Mastodon, Badflower, New Politics, Falling in Reverse, Static-X and All That Remains.
“Let us be clear, this is heartbreaking for us,” festival organizers say in a statement. “Ohio is our home and this festival means so much to us and we know it means a lot to you, as well.”
“We held out as long as we could and worked extremely hard to find a way to make Inkcarceration happen this year — including exploring the possibility of a fall festival,” the statement continues. “But with the uncertainty of COVID-19, we must put the safety of fans, workers, and bands first and follow the advice of health officials.”
Inkcarceration 2021 is already scheduled for July 16-18 of next year. Information regarding refunds is forthcoming.
