2020 Boston Calling festival canceled

The 2020 Boston Calling festival has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Headliners for the three-day event, which was set for May 22-24 at the Harvard Athletic Complex, included the reunited Rage Against the MachineFoo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Other artists on the bill included The 1975The StrutsAngels & AirwavesLiam Gallagher and Brittany Howard.

“We are heartbroken,” festival organizers say in a statement. “However, the health and safety of our audience, artists, partners, vendors, first responders, and staff are of the utmost importance to us, and we felt that this was the only acceptable way forward.”

Ticket-holders may receive refunds, or transfer their tickets to the 2021 festival.
